From the Winemaker

At release, the wine is a dark ruby red with a bright red hue.

The wine displays a distinctive regional expression of choc-mint along with cool climate aromas of violets, spice and cedar tobacco notes from French oak maturation.

On a palate, it has deliciously haunting flavours of blackcurrant, mint and dark chocolate persist around a finely tuned tannin structure and a thoroughly enjoyable long and persistent finish.

For over fifty years seahorses have been the symbol of Taylors family winery. On first glance, winemakers and marine scientists seem like unlikely allies. But they do face a common problem - climate change. Seahorses, much like grapevines, are indicator species that raise the alarm for serious climate-related issues. It's very important we do what we can to reverse their population decline before it's too late.

At national and global scales, Taylors partner with two organisations that are working to protect seahorses and secure thriving populations of these quirky fishes.
