Our Notes
Heathcote Shiraz is famously complex, unctuous & textural, and this is no exception. Fresh rather than jammy red stonefruit notes, nicely integrated spice & an almost meaty tannin presence to chew on as the long finish fades.
Winemakers Comments
Our fruit is sourced from carefully selected vineyard sites that sit along the side of the Mount Camel Ridge on the ancient red volcanic soils. Geologists say the soils are over 500 million years old and it’s these soils that are renowned for producing rich and complex shiraz. We strive to harness the power often found in Heathcote Shiraz to create a wine of elegance and balance.
About the Winery
The Pacha Mama range is named for an Incan earth goddess, paying tribute to the role that the Earth plays in winemaking and to the Andean tradition of toasting and offering libations of thanks to Pachamama.
The range is one of a few produced by Wine Unplugged, a project by winemakers Nina Stocker & Callie Jemmeson with a focus on small-batch production, minimal intervention and vineyard selection.
