Our Notes
Give this one a good swirl in the glass and a good savour in the mouth - it’s shy, but it needn’t be. Soft and supple, with firm tannin and shiitake umami reinforcing waves of of concentrated cherry, stewed plums, cinnamon and chocolate.
Layers on layers of quiet cool-climate class, and it cries out for a nice bit of duck if that’s something you enjoy.
Winemakers Comments
Complex aromas including blueberry and rose petal that make this wine very fragrant and interesting. The palate is well-conducted, fleshy strawberry fruit up front with a firming acid and enough tannin for food and further ageing.
About the Winery
A tiny boutique outfit in NSW's cool Southern Highlands with just six hectares under vine and fewer than 2000 cases produced annually, Rotherwood's small team of hand-picked talent oversee nearly every aspect of the winemaking. A Fumé Blanc (Sauvignon Blanc, oaked in the American style) and a Noir/Grigio rosé are specialties.
